Miss Austen's Triffle, indeed

Hoy tengo que hacer una confesión, soy anglófila. Tranquilos, que eso no se pilla en los retretes públicos ni es contagioso, simplemente cuanto más conozco la cultura inglesa más me gusta. Ese idioma capaz de convertir cualquier palabra en verbo, esa política con sus ritos tan peculiares... hasta la cocina me parece una maravilla (bueno, el pastel de riñones aún no lo he probado, ejem...)
Esta extraña debilidad por lo británico es producto, además de tragarme todos los programas de Jamie Oliver, de leer mucho a Jane Austen.
Me encanta el ambiente que desprenden sus novelas y los rituales tan barrocos de la sociedad inglesa de la época, donde la gente se viste o se refresca para el almuerzo, preguntan a qué hora se sirve el té y los mayordomos anuncian solemnemente que el café de después de la cena se servirá en el saloncito azul.
Es por eso que he sacado la vajilla de los domingos, he pulido la plata y he invitado a Miss Austen a cenar. He querido prepararle un postre inglés con el que quedar como la mismísima Reina Isabel pero que no me costara ni mucho tiempo ni mucho dinero, así que aquí va el postre de Miss Austen.

Triffle de otoño

Ingredientes (para dos)
una tarrina de natillas
un brick pequeño de nata líquida para montar
una pera grande o dos pequeñitas a trozos pequeños
un muffin de chocolate a trozos pequeños
un chorrito de cointreau
un puñado de avellanas picadas groseramente (pero sin insultar)
un par de cucharadas de azúcar

Se prepara un trozo de papel de horno en una superficie plana. Se pone el azúcar en un cazo y se deja caramelizar a fuego medio, sin remover, hasta que esté doradito (ojo, que enseguida se quema). Echar las avellanas y retirar del fuego. Extender el caramelo (cuidadín, que quema muchísimo!!!!!) en el papel de horno con una cuchara metálica y dejar enfriar.
Mientas, en vasos o copas transparentes, poner la mitad del muffin a trocitos en el fondo y rociar con el Cointreau para que se emborrache.
Montar la nata y mezclar la mitad con las natillas.
Montar el postre: poner unos cuantos trozos de pera encima del muffin, encima un poco de las natillas, otra capa de pera, y coronar con un rosetón de nata montada (con una bolsa de plástico y unas tijeras se puede hacer una manga pastelera genial) y trocitos de las avellanas caramelizadas por encima.

Está riquísimo y se puede combinar de muchas maneras. Poner muffins o bizcochos de otros sabores, natillas de otros sabores, otras frutas, otros licores, virutas de chocolate, anisillos... todo menos ternera salteada con setas, ¡claro!
